I saw this morning JetBlue launched a deal where they are offering 20% off. Supposedly the discount is already built in so no telling for sure, but I saw some pretty low rates with some at $69 each way.
Southwest also launch a winter sale with rates advertised through May 8th. I have really grown to love Southwest and I have only flown them once, but it’s the first place I look now. Just check out their cancel policies and services they provide and you may start to use them too.
Don’t forget that if you have to travel then trying flying on the actual holiday. I saw some rates as low as $135 each way on Christmas and New year’s, but then they jump to $300 or more each way after.
There are still some hotel deals out there too depending on where you are traveling to. I am not usually one to recommend booking non-refundable rates, but it will save you money. Sometimes it’s only $10 a night but can go as high as $30 a night.
The holidays are a good time to maybe lock up some travel insurance too especially if you have non-refundable rates. Don't forget if you use a great points card (I use Chase), you get extra benefits for trip delays and insurance on car rentals.
