Atlanta prices as expected skyrocketed as soon as the game was final. I have watched them go up from $398 to now into the mid $600’s. So sometimes if you really want to go somewhere you have to get creative in your travel approach.
You start looking for the closest cities and see what comes up. You can either then drive the rest of a way or perhaps find another flight and still come out ahead.
In this case I came up with two choices you can fly into Nashville for $305 or Birmingham, AL for $348. Nashville requires about a 3 ½-4 hour drive and a 2- 2 1/2 hour drive on the latter. Rental car at $50, and add in a hotel off hotwire for about $50-60 a night.
Now you have a nice little package created. Total price=$450 or $500 split with someone and you're in at $375 pp
So if you ever don’t like an airfare get creative and look at other options.
