For my Facebook Video on Food 101
Las Vegas is a food mecca full of fine dining, buffets, fast food, and cheap eats are still to be found as well. In general, I say Vegas can be done on almost any budget and that is no different with food. I will admit that when I am in Vegas I just don’t usually over indulge anymore. I try and stay hydrated and prefer smaller meals and snacks.
Here are some great cheap options for Vegas food and drinks.
Ellis Island-Located just a couple (very large) blocks behind Bally’s, you can get some great Steak specials here. I had the $6.99 Steak and egg special on my last visit which is available 11Pm-11Am. It completes complete with toast and potatoes or hash browns. They also have a steak special for $7.99. You must play at least $5 in slot or table games to qualify. In addition, I have heard the BBQ ribs are great. Ellis Island also has their own brewery.
Stage Door-How about a cheep beer and a hot dog? Look no further than a stage door casino. Don’t get too excited but this defines what a dive bar is which happens to also have video poker lol. I love it. It directly across from Bally’s. Get a $1 beer, $2 shots, or a hot dog and a beer for $2.50. Always some great specials going on here and its worth a stop.
Casino Royale-Another great location directly next to Harrah’s. Where at the big casinos like Harrah’s a mixed drink will cost you about $12 on avg and a beer about $9. Casino Royale just raised their prices, but hey you can get a Michelob beer for $2, a mixed drink for $5, or a double for around $10. I routinely walk here to get a couple drinks, then go back and hang out at Harrah’s Piano Bar. Casino Royale also is a Best Western Hotel. If you need cheap and easy, and don't care about some noise, then you can do this. Best Western also status matches if you have other hotel status.
Flamingo happy hour-Get a beer for .05 yes that’s right five cents, that’s not a typo. I have heard this may go away soon, but every day for an hour (5-6PM) you can score a great deal here. The beer will be miller lite most likely but hey, go for it if you like that.
Hard Rock Hotel-AT Lucky’s Café ask for the 777 special and available with casino players card. Get a steak and shrimp dinner complete with sides and a salad for $7.77
Here is a thread which provides a great happy hour list off Trip Advisor too. Kudos to user: kbunde for the great list.
